TREO with GSM anytime - Treo Forums

Does any know know if the TREO700P or another version will have GSM capabilities?

I don't have any inside info or some secret source but what I've read on many forums and websites point to them releasing a GSM version later this year. Historically, that seems to be the way Palm has played it with other models.

So do think it will be worth the wait to get a GSM product?
Could you explain the major advantages..besdies traveling to other countires?

I do travel to Europe and Asia, and would prefer a GSM system.
However I am a TREO fan and a Mac user.

Whether or not it's worth the wait depends on your situation. With an unlocked GSM, you'd have the option to choose between different GSM providers (i.e. Cingular, T-mobile) here in the States, and you could travel with it, as well. An advantage of having a GSM phone is, when you travel, you can use your home network's int'l roaming capabilities or purchase local SIM cards in whichever country you might hit.

I don't believe a GSM Treo will do any better/worse for a Mac than a CDMA one would.
