Well, I found the culprit. On my Kyocera 7135, I had been using a suite of applications from Class Action originally called My Time Traveler and now known as Titan Class. These apps allow one to enter travel information into a website. The time zone specific info is then viewed on the handheld and synced to the calender automatically. Problem is, its not playing nice with the 700p calendar, hence the incessant popups and processor lockout.
For the record, I verified with Class Action that the following apps are indeed incompatible with the 700p: TZEvents, Itineraries and TravelSync. Once I deleted these, no more "Updating Date Book" messages.
And BTW, I can still use MyTimeTraveler and share time zone specific events with a Mac desktop. I import the .ics file into iCal and sync that with the 700p using MissingSync. On the handheld, DateBk5 handles the time zone specific events with ease. |
