Default Veri700p charges data for pics

Here is a heads up for anyone that uses a 700p without the data package on verizon networks. if you have signed up for a picture and messaging service but have a pay as you go for the data, because its free. well the Pictures are now sent over the EVDO data line and you will be charged for data usage, this is even if you have unlimited picture messaging. I just received my bill and had a 96.30 charge on there because of this, verizon cancelled those charges. Text messaging can still be used, but no pictures.

That would fall into life's NOT GOOD category!

When I purchased my 700p last month, the salesman told me he had a customer who decided not to purchase the unlimited data package and ended up with a $4000 bill! I talked to a customer service rep later on and she confirmed that Verizon did have a customer that ran up just such a bill.

When it comes to the 700p, my guess is that the unlimited data package is required.

Ben, can you check email without a data package? How could you send as an email attachment?
