Default verizon 700p tone 4 month on-going issues, please help

I have the 700p for Verizon. When I have the ringer switch set to vibrate, when I go in or out of service the phone makes this anoying series of beeps. This is awful as it disrupts business.

Palm has given me 5 new treos, made me do 30 hard resets and upgrade to the latest software. Nothing works.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I also get a single tone sometimes when I get an e-mail or text message and the phone is supposed to be on vibrate.

    Hi:

There is a setting that you can select to have a tone sound when you lose connectivity or regain it, but since I have given up the Treo, I don't have one to reference.

    It is in there somewhere.

Sorry I couldn't give you details on where to look, but I am sure one of the very nice people here will.

I know about that setting, that isn't the problem. I have that off. The problem is that it is making sounds while on vibrate which it shouldn't do regardless of any setting. There were others that had this problem and I didn't know if anyone solved it somehow...
