Need Help Verizon software install failure

I'm trying to install the software from the Verizon CD, but after Step 2 (where you choose Palm Desktop or Outlook) the program closes. There is no error message--the program just closes and does not perform the initial sync. I've tried reinstalling multiple times and even tried the version from Palm's website to no avail. Please help!

Try the software from Palm's site http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...ndesk414e.html

I figured it out. Windows had installed the Palm as a device. I had to uninstall hardware and then reload the software.

Can you explain what you mean by uninstall the hardware and then reload the software? I think I may be having a similar problem.

I installed the software for the 700p on computer #1. Then I got my wife a computer (computer #2). I installed the software on her computer (computer #2) and tried to sync the Treo to computer #2 and a connection could not be etablished.

Is this because the Treo has already established a profile on computer #1 or what? I need to figure this out as she's getting ready to go out of town for a few weeks. Any input?

    Thanks

I don't think your problem is the same as mine was. I could not complete a software install. It sounds like you were able to install the software.
