Question Verizon Treo 700p keeps rebooting at "Access Powered" Screen

I have no idea why this is happening.

It happened all of a sudden, too. I remember before this happened (a few minutes before, I think), that I got an error about there not being enough memory so "something" (I forget what) wasn't saved.

Now I can't get the thing to boot up.

It gets to the "Access Powered" screen, turns off, and then reboots to that same screen. The process repeats over an over again.

I even tried to do a soft reset.

What is going on and what can I do? I don't want to lose what I have on my Treo!! Thanks...

Update: Tried to do a hard reset and erase all data, but even that doesn't help. It keeps on resetting over and over again.

    Update...

Soft AND Hard resets were unsuccessful. Verizon is sending me a new phone under warranty.

What a pain in the ass because I hadn't synced in 2 weeks. I was just thinking "Hey, I should sync soon!" too!

    Arg...

Sorry to hear that. Might be a good time to consider a backup app, as well.

Exact same thing happened to me. Had my 700p for a week and it started behaving badly. Then, at 14 days, it went into a death spiral. Started that looping stuff you're talking about.

    Then... it was over.:tounge:

Called Verizon (God love 'em) and they told me to take the 700p's cold dead carcass back to the store and get a new one.

Life's been good ever since. I have no idea what caused the thing to die.

Get used to it. My personal favorite for this behavior is "The Death Spiral". I think Hollywood might chime in with something different. He's much more descriptive than I am. :tounge:

Can't be too "descriptive",......this is a "family forum" ha ha. Let me just say that the "dead handset speaker" on my current (#4) 700p is unresolved (Neither Volume Care or their Handset Jack "Bypass" feature helped - I know Ben-you told me LOL), & unfortunately is going to require me calling my (now) friends at Verizon for Treo #5-IN JUST SEVEN MONTHS. Is this a record? I must be a glutton for punishment. Oh & by the way, I think it was #3 (a refurbished unit - I'll never do that again) that went into the "Reset Loop" after a day & a half. Yeah you know it's funny. I've had this particular 700p for 11 months now!! (Hope I'm not jinxing myself ha ha).

Anyhow, even after having it work pretty much flawlessly all this time, I still get chills every once in a while when it performs a self initiated "reset", and gets to that screen.

And then as it proceeds as it should.............breath the biggest sigh of relief ha ha ha.
