    Question Verizon Vs. Sprint

hello to all treo owners ! its been a while since i posted and i wanted to say what's up to still-rockin and others who helped me in the past with my treo 650 from cingular . with that said , i am sooo tired of cingular and there Customer Service or actually lack of that i am definitely leaving .... question is .... and excuse me if its been asked many times over but i searched and didn't find an actual post on the treo 700p and which carrier is really worth the data charges and plan with customer service being my priority followed by signal and voice quality .... so , any input of service and plan prices ? i want to leave cingular ASAP plus i'm tired of waiting for a GSM 700p ..... so whats yours opinions ? pay 50.00 for data with verizon or get sprint and save but have less coverage .... thankx to all and your help ..... again sorry if i'm posting an already asked question .... plz be gentle ...

For what its worth, if it were me, my priority would be Voice Quality first and customer service second. If coverage of a certain carrier is not great in your area, saving $$$ is not going to make you happy, when you can't use your voice or data connection a certain percentage of the day. If that Carrier with the best coverage is Verizon, then $50 for data it is! If its Sprint, than so be it . . If its Cingular, well . . . . . CS might really suck, but at least your Treo has signal most of the time . . . . .

I would do some unscientific polling . . . I would start asking anyone I saw with a phone, who they had service with and what are their experiences. Most of the time, when I have done this, they really brag until I tell them, that I was talking to a guy who said that he always lost service with (insert a carrier here) at such and such, and they would start agreeing, that in that area, their service was hit or miss also. . . .

By the way, great to see you joaquin654. I hope life has been treating you well, because it sounds like Cingular sure isn't!!!!

Agreed it really depends on what is more important to you. For me its call quality and CS/Support and thats Verizon. Data packages are, well too expensive @ Verizon but they are what they are and they are not dropping soon enough. They both offer the same phone sans a few differnt freebie apps etc.

I heard about this site on the Mobility Today Podcast www.antennasearch.com and you can plug in any address to see what licensed towers are in a specific radius and who owns them. I always thought the Tower about 2.5 miles from my house was Verizons, but its not owned by them.

The Treo 700p has a retail of $619 thats RETAIL. Well here is what Sprint and Verionz say Retail is:

    Verizon $619
    $499.99 price
    - $100.00 online discount
    $399.99 new price

Sprint $649 - Where did the extra $30 come from?
    $649.99 regular price
    – $150.00 instant savings
    $499.99 new price

So Verizon is cheaper and their CS, Support and coverage is larger and better.

whats up still-rockin .... yeah cingular's signal is great but there CS and general attitude really disappoints me . i'd rather pay more somewhere else and have just as good a signal then give them one more penny . so my search for a 700p carrier continues .......

nice to hear from u again still-rockin ..... as far as life its been great .... i just had my first son on june 5th and he's a ball !!!! great little guy !!!!
