| Verizon's wireless sync I have been using verizon wireless sync and have it set to "push" email, contact, calender, tasks. I've noticed that when I make a change on my desktop, moments later the change show up on my palm (im refering to calender and tasks right now). However, when I make a change on my treo, it does not change on the desktop unless I actually tap "sync" on the wireless sync app. is this correct in the way it is working? Also, over the weekend, I received emails on my treo, but on Mon morning when I opened outlook, I got them all over again on my treo as duplicates. Any advice appreciated. Thanks |

Thanks | Can't answer the first part of your question, as I've disabled the "push" on Wireless Sync for Contacts, Tasks, Memo & Calander. I prefer to use the Palm Software. That's why I went with the "p". I also wasn't real comfortable with all my "Personal Info" (Appoinments, dates, complete list of all my contacts, etc., etc.) sitting on Verizons server.
Regarding the second/email part of your question. Yes, your email will appear on both your Treo AND your desktop PC if you're using Wireless Sync for email. Another couple of things. If you DELETE an email on your Treo, it's not deleted on your server, meaning you're going to get it all over again on your desktop. Also, when "sending" an email on your Treo, you'll probably notice that it won't show up in the "Sent" folder of the device for an hour or more. These are "kinks" that I'm hoping Verizon will address soon, as I don't really want to go with another application for email, now that I've finally got all the bugs worked out and things seem to be running smoothly!

| Hey, thanks for the reply. Actually, when I delete an email, it does delete off my desktop. Not immediately, but eventually does. |

I've contacted Verizon several times about trying to have something deleted from my server, when I delete the email from my Treo, and they've repeatedly told me it's "Not Possible".
If you get any further info, I'd sure appreciate you posting.
Thanks,

When you receive an email, it goes to both you desktop PC AND your Treo, right? (Actually Wireless Sync pulls it from your server and then "pushes" it to the phone).
Now, if you delete it from the desktop PC, it STILL appears on the phone, right?
My question, and what you seem to be able to do that I can't, is are you able to delete it from the Treo, and have it be deleted from your desktop as well? You say you can, but Verizon (not that I think they know everything, sometimes I wonder if they know anything ha ha), has told me this can't be done.
I'd LOVE IT if you can figure your settings on the Treo as well as the wireless sync site, and let me know how you're doing this?
I know there's a box on the wireless sync site to "Leave a Copy of the Email on the Server", which I have checked. My guess was, that if this was not checked, then the emails once sent to the Treo, would NOT be sent to my desktop. Maybe I'm wrong? Wouldn't be the first time LOL.
Let me know if you can help me out.
Thanks,

"Hollywood" | I just confirmed it. I deleted another email on my treo after my last post to you (say 5 min ago). Im in front of my desktop as well. Email still there (on desktop) untill I received the email notice on my desktop that you just replied again. I immediately watched the wireless sync icon in the tray change colors as it is now sending email to VZW server and on to my treo. My treo alerted me that new email received and I looked on my outlook and the deleted email was now gone or should I say moved to deleted items folder. So yes, its doing it. Damn vzw tech reps. I dont trust them. Their cure to everything is hard reset- lol |

| You say you watched the wireless sync icon "In Tray"? I assume you meant on your Treo? I have no wireless sync icon on my desktop. Are you syncing just email, or calander, contacts, memo & tasks as well?

"Hollywood" | No, on my desktop. Do you have the PC monitor software on your desktop? I am syncing everything. |

No, I'm not using PC Monitor, because I don't want to sync everything, only email. I prefer using the Palm Software for Contacts, Tasks, Memo & Calander.
That's the price I have to pay, to keep my private information off of the wireless sync server.
