Greetings

I have a couple of quick and easy questions about VersaMail.
1) Which version should I purchase?
I wish to use it for my Outlook Exchange server at the office as well as Gmail (if possible).

2) What is your experience with VersaMail and its syncability with Outlook and Gmail.

Versamail comes with your Treo and there is no need to purchase. If its not on your Treo now, look at the install disk.
As far as issues, I searched here and came up with this link.

My experience with Versamail was no a positive one. I currently use Chatter and love it. Also, Palm recently hired the developer of Chatter and word is, Chatter will be the email app on future Treos.

Having always used Versa on my 650 and now 700p I must ask... does Chatter work with MS Exchange syncing as well? Does it pull contacts and calendar info as well as email like the version of Versa does that now comes standard on the 700p?

I am not an Exchange user so I only know what the Chatter web site says . . And it says that it supports Exchange Server syncing, as well as several others. It might be worth posing the question on Chatter's forums . .

Thanks for your reply, however I purchased the phone from a private seller and there was no installation disk. So I'm guessing 3.5 is my version...

I'm not sure what the answer is for this. It was on the CD with my Treo as well as on the CD that came with my T|X. The version on my Treo is 3.5.1

I have it set to grab my email from my podcast email address, my .mac address, my home email, and my Gmail. It works with all of them. Gmail's instructions on their site for ChatterEmail (or maybe it was SnapperMail) worked fine. I had to do the VZWmail tweak to work with the home account. For the other two I had to edit the outgoing server info, ports, SSL, and the like.

I'm going to keep playing with it and maybe in a week or two install the ChatterEmail trial. I don't need my emails 'right this minute', but it's nice to see them come in when I launch the app.

Isn't this a red flag to anyone??

Did they give you a disk that contains the HotSynch software? What else is on the disk that you DO have?

Ronstoppable, I think you might know this, but just in case, you can get the desktop software here from Palm's site. Its missing the media sync side of it, but I never use mine anyway . .
