Voice Dialing 3rd party Contacts workaround

It's my understanding that voice dialing software (VoiceIt's VoiceDialIt and VoiceSignal's VSuite) works well with the built-in contacts database, but won't work with 3rd party applications such as Goldmine and KeyContacts.

Has anyone (who has a 3rd party contact database installed) tried configuring Hotsync to load the built-in contacts database from Outlook using the "Outlook overwrites handheld" setting so that the database holds all the latest data and won't conflict with the 3rd party application?
