Wallpaper Questions

Hi everyone,

How do you install your own wallpaper on the HOME screen - obviously I figured out the phone screen, but I would like to have something on my home screen. I am a three day old 700P owner - love the unit!

Well you can't by defualt. They only way to have wallpaper on the back gorund are by three ways.
1) a 3rd party launcher like zlauncher, xluancher and etc.
2) By a Hack which is safe and easy to do and can be found how to do it over at the developers 1src site. Look under treo and "mytreo pics"
3) If you know programming then you could hack it your self.

The great thing about having a device with LOTS of memory is the ability to customize it. I have a picture of my two youngest sons on the default dialer. I am a ZLauncher user and have ocean pictures, a few space pics (nebulas), an old aircraft (with 2Day), one white blank and one red blank (used for night time).

HOW did you get the ocean pics/space pics/etc on the tab that I use all the time - I have not had the time to REALLY play with Zlauncher, but all I have been able to do is change all the colors of the tab that I use all the time to launch my apps.


ALSO while I am asking - what is the best contact software out there, I really hate the one that came with my unit - I like to see a view of name/company, and be able to customize the view as much as possible. The default contact proggie that came with it only allows two views, and I don't like either one....lol

The file you want to display must be in the /Palm/Programs/ZLauncher/BackImage.

The in Tab Properties, select the General tab (should be the first one selected) and then tape in the space next to BackImage then play with whatever floats the boat.

As for contact software, I have tried a few and frankly have stuck with the default contact manager. However! TakePhone 7 has the ability to search the contacts and it allows you to configure that search in a number of ways. I have it set to search last, first and company name. Site: www.shsh.com and the latest beta is at www.shsh.com/beta - that is where Takephone 7 is at.

2Day, also from SHSH Software can be set to search via Takephone and it beats the heck out of doing it via the contacts manager.

You could download the free FileZ, a file manager and use it to move them.
