| Where to get a Treo 700P? Guys, Im looking to buy a new or used treo 700p (sprint) but I do not want to pay full retail price. I already am an existing customer so Im not able to get all those discounts as a new customer would.
Does anyone know where I can get a little cheaper deal on a treo. I just dont want to pay full retail from sprint (649.00). Does anyone know a place that sells them for a bit cheaper than full retail?
I own a 6700 and am looking to sell it or even trade for it if someone is interested.
Steven

They've been giving existing customers pretty good deals because Verizon started off selling them cheaper. I had no plans whatsoever to upgrade from my 650 until I started hearing about some people's deals. Sprint owed me nothing since I just got my 650 in December and my latest contract just started last Sep but they gave me a great deal on the phone and knocked down my bill a little, too.
If you don't want to go that route, I've heard about eBay resellers selling for as cheap as $199, but with new 2-yr contracts and phone numbers.

| What do you mean by retentions? Is it basically complain to sprint and tell them to give me a good deal on a phone? |

If you've planned/threatened to cancel, you get the Retentions dept., whose job it is to try to keep you a happy Sprint customer. When you get the automated voice, just say "cancel". They offer discounts on the phones and the plans. Many people (including me) have founds success with them. Understand, though, there's always the chance you'll find the one who says fine, I'll help you cancel. If you're willing to, go ahead. If not, hang up, call back and get another Retention rep and try again. The big key (in my mind) is to be polite. They get threatened/yelled at all the time. There was absolutely no reason in the world for them to offer me anything but I found 2 that did.

| I’ve been a Sprint customer for many years. You can get a good deal from Sprint if you act nicely and push just a bit. I used E-Mail between Sprint and myself just so there was a written record and nobody could dispute it if I could not get the deal. I ended up getting $400.00 off a new Treo 700p. I agreed only if I did not have to mail in any Rebates and Sprint posted the Credit and I came up with $249.99 posted to my Account. The trouble was they did not send me the phone. Despite assuring me there was an Order and it was on they way they never gave me an Order Number. A week later one of the Sprint people I called on the phone confirmed there was no Order and offered me another $25.00 Credit for the inconvenience and told me to be at a Sprint Store the next day at a certain time. The next day I went to the Store and the same Agent called me and confirmed everything to the Sprint Store Salesperson who gave me my new Treo 700p. My net cost was $224.99 for the Treo. It took nearly two weeks of e-mails and phone calls, so with a little persistence you can save some money. I also tried Verizon, because my wife has Verizon and she was nagging me to switch. I called but Verizon offered NOTHING for me to switch to them where Sprint offers $150.00 to stay, so it was a no brainer to stay with Sprint. |

| Upgrading As a Sprint customer myself, I fully agree with each and every piece of advice given in this thread. If they WILL NOT HELP, ARE NOT under contract and DO NOT care about your phone number try www.wirefly.com
Otherwise, good luck and enjoy.
Respectfully submitted.
