| Which is easier to learn to use? I am new to PDA phones and am planning to get one soon. I have used a windows PC for years. Would I do better getting the 700W for that reason or is the Palm OS 700P very user friendly and easy to learn? |

| Hello, Larry, welcome to ET. I'd used Windows all my life, including Pocket PC's before getting my first Treo (650) back in December. I wondered the same thing, then did like you, and explored forums. My experience was there was no learning curve at all. To me, the Palm OS seems very intuitive. Once I got over the initial feeling of "hey, this doesn't look like my PC", everything was fine. There is no problem syncing with Windows-based PC's or with Microsoft Outlook, if those are important to you.
Hope that helps!

| get the 700P not the w - it has a better screen, faster with EVDO, and runs palm software - it is highly recommended over the W - read david pogue column - ny times technology section archives on the 700P over the w. It is easy to learn to use - play around with it for a few days. Look at Trecentral.com forums 700P - to see what to install - I have installed: volumecare; voicedial; PDAnet; OperaMini Browser; IBMJava; AlwaysOn; Fontsmoother( with verdana 11pt font); kMaps; Avvenu; filez; universal keyboard prc. file.

Just search the 700p forum and also check out the Knowledge Base and it'll point you wherever you need to go.
