Thanks, but why should I get the 700 over the 680? What does the 700 have besides more memory and a better camera that the 680 doesn't? And is the memory issue important?

There isn't anything different between them expect for what you have stated.

The main focus is if you want GSM or CDMA. Cause other than that they're not much different.

Unless you want new phone ui. Which is what the 680 has.

Most people say the 680 is the 700p but on GSM network.

    What memory issue?

you could always get a 650 for GSM and use it on your families Cingular network.

    It is good as well.

Also another difference between 680 and 700p is data (depends on your area. But if your under and area on a GSM network with UMTS and HSDPA data support you'll have the fastest browsing spped. Its supposably faster than EVDo.

    But depends where you live.

Is the 64 memory thing a bad thing...I mean, is it important to have more built-in memory like the 700p has?

Memory is kind of like money . . . The more you have, the more women like you! :tounge:

All jokes aside, arguments could be made that 64 megs is not enough. But as long as developers continue to design their apps to run from the SD card, instead of the main memory, its not a great big issue. Many of us here are using 650s with only about 26 megs out of the box, and believe me, my Treo is crammed full of applications . . .

Wait, so that memory is actually useless because you can just use the sd card??? Well if that's the case, then you're basically paying 100 bucks more for a better camera (680 v 700p) because that's the last difference.

Camera/Memory/Dataspeed and of course the antenna-less design are the main differences. If buying unlocked direct from Palm, you also get to choose between one of four colors. (should be popular with fashion concious ladies) Finally, the 680 when released is only available as a GSM model. No word on if/when it will be available on the CDMA networks. If you are a fan of Palm, buying a cheaper model Treo from a carrier that has less than desirable coverage in your area, is not saving money, only inviting frustration. Sprint has a much cheaper data plan than Cingular. Pay more for a 700 than a 680, but from what you save on the data plan, you end up saving much more over a two year period. There is more to consider than just the bottom dollar of what it costs to walk out the door with it . . .

But also it is good to have more internal memory so that you can hold more sms, pics, ringtones and so on. So if a buddy has pics he wants to show of an sd card you can popout your sd card and still have the mostimportant apps to you on you device still instead of your sd card. Also if you get banking, stocks and etc. i think it would be more secure if you kept the data on the internal memroy than an sd card.

There are always reasons why to have more internal memory. But as stated you can have low internal memory and run all apps off of an sd card.

But it depends what apps. Most apps have a hard time running off of any sd card. I think once you start installing 3rd party apps you'll see why it is important to have a little more internal memory.
