I believe so the only way is through cable and bluetooth. Unless u want to network hotsync which is a little different. But, I could be wrong.

It works well for me. It does take longer than by cable hotsync. i.e. cable hotsync takes about a minute. bluetooth about two maybe.

    Default Infrared port

Although slow you can sync through the infrared port on your treo and laptop. It's standard on my thinkpad.

I've used cable, bluetooth, IR and network for hotsync. Cable's the best. I'm leaning toward getting a cradle.

    Cable's fastest.
Then network (I'm with Verizon, so it goes pretty quick.)
Then bluetooth (to my laptop. Works o.k.)
Then IR. IR's trickiest because you have to make sure both parties are aligned. Kind of like the planets, but completely different...

Network sync is imbedded in the Verizon 700p (at least it was for me). It's labeled as Wireless Sync. When you click on it for the first time, it downloads the required software and does all the setup.

A BIG WARNING HERE! This can bite you if you don't completely understand the functionality!

Basically, the Wireless Sync is a backup sync. You still sync with Outlook or the Palm desktop. But should your Treo die (like mine did... three times) you automatically download/restore from the Wireless Sync first. Then you hotsync with the desktop! Otherwise, you end up with loads of duplicates.

Of course, IF you forget and hotsync with the desktop FIRST, then try a Wireless Sync, you get a warning that you'll get merged/duplicate data. But by then, it's too late. If you want to continue using Wireless Sync, you have to weed out all the dupes.

Best thing to do in that case is hard reset the Treo and Wireless Sync first, then hotsync.

I sure hope this makes sense. If not, blame it on the voices... :tounge:
