700w Antenna Woes!! Any Options??

I recently was issued from my work a treo 700w. This was an upgrade from a cell phone and palm pilot. Among all the problems. I am having with this thing the most pressing is the antenna. I have no bars where I work, or at home and even the best place outside I only get one bar at work. Lots of dropped calls and hearing problems. I added a small antenna and coax adapter to plug into this thing at home and have hardly any reception. Why is this so? and is there anything that can be done? Maybe a better after market antenna that replaces the crappy original. I'm with verizon same as my last phone and it worked fine at both locations decribed. I have had it with *228 !!! I would apreciate any insight.

You should get the phone checked and check local coverage with whatever company its hooked up with. I never had a problem with my Verizon TREO700w.

Definitely talk with verizon about the phone it may have some bad internal connections or you might have gotten a bad antenna I know the guy that is doing the short antenna had some problems with the top of the short anttenna coming off. I don't know if it was cosmetic or interfered with reception You may have had the bad luck to get two lemon antennaes.
