I have a Treo 650 and T-Mobile service, both of which have kept me very happy. My wife has Verizon service (and an LG-7100 phone) so I can see Verizon service next to TMO service. Generally, she gets maybe a 5 - 10-% better signal than I do, but it's not enough to effect call quallity or cause dropped calls. What has lured me to even consider going to Verizon with a new Treo 700w is the fact that I absolutely must have the latest gadget. Time and again I would find myself walking into a Verizon store and fondling the 700. But as the issues mentioned in the re-review started to surface I found my resolve to wait for the 700p. I find Verizon's idea of charging an extra $40 per month for EVDO particularly heinous.
One reason I decided to go ahead and buy a 650 now instead of waiting on a P or W at Sprint, was I did not want to be a beta tester. I wanted to be able to go to this site and about 2-3 others and ask a question that I am sure SOMEBODY can fix. I have also made decision to stay with something OTHER than Windoz - even though I currently have a house full of Windoz computers. I'll upgrade to a 700p next year and then look forward to the Linux platform later on.
On another note - Sprint has the best data plans around - hands down. EVDO is as cheap as $15 for unlimited data right now. That could certainly change, but it looks good now. I have the $10 Vision plan (which I get for free for two years as a "loyal" customer) and I use data all of the time. Sweeet!
