I chose the wx because I didn't wanna have to get used to a different OS. The rep told me that my internet experience should be better because this phone has more memory. To anyone that has switched between the w and the wx, is there really that much of a difference? I've been on this forum for a while, and people seem to love these devices, I like mine too. However, I've had nothing but problems with mine, so I'm leaning towards the fact that the problem is on Verizon's end somehow. In addition, I was offered a blackberry or ppc6700. Was the wx the right choice? Thanks, Jessica. |
Heck yeh that was the right move! I was begging Verizon for 8 months to swap my Treo 700w for a new Treo 700wx .
The hardware differences are primarily double memory. What makes the 700wx a better phone is simply the software. Windows Mobile has been updated with a list of over 750 bug fixes in the 700wx. Notice I use the word UPDATE and not UPGRADE. There's not even 1 new feature in the wx vs. the w, which totally pisses me off. How could Verizon sell me a Treo 700w for $500 which was LOADED with bugs & while I'm patiently waiting for a software update to be released for me to download, they release a 700wx & call it a enhanced & upgraded model. UPGRADED? THERE IS NOT ONE NEW FEATURE IN IT; IT MERELY HAS SOFTWARE FIXES BRINGING A MORE STABLE & SOLID GUI!!!!
Anywho, I was bored one day & in a Verizon store & figured, what the hell. I called them, explained that my phone stinks (loose calls with call waiting, conference calling, etc. + freezes EVERYWHERE) & thankfully the guy on the other end of the line was actually receptive to me. He tried the whole Tech Support speach & when he saw he was going nowhere, he just said OK. Tell the store to swap it out for you with a new wx.
The Conclusion: After my contract ran up, I got an iPhone (the day after the 16GB came out). I still use my Treo 700wx for my work cell phone line w/ Verizon & now seperated my personal cell & work cell by keeping my personal line personal (on my iPhone).
I hope that answers your question.
