Question 700w vs. 700wx...how much difference??

I've had many issues with my Treo 700w. It has been replaced twice due to the fact that it is basically useless for internet browsing. It constantly freezes up, and I have to do a soft reset many times daily. Finally, after being on the phone with Verizon for an hour, Data Services offered me a p or wx. I chose the wx because I didn't wanna have to get used to a different OS. The rep told me that my internet experience should be better because this phone has more memory. To anyone that has switched between the w and the wx, is there really that much of a difference? I've been on this forum for a while, and people seem to love these devices, I like mine too. However, I've had nothing but problems with mine, so I'm leaning towards the fact that the problem is on Verizon's end somehow. In addition, I was offered a blackberry or ppc6700. Was the wx the right choice? Thanks, Jessica.

hello thickQt you made the right choice the wx does have much more memory and you should be able to surf ur internet on ur device much faster without freezing on you and having to do much more soft reset.but is still a good idea to do it every morning before you start using. and every evening for optimal performance again you made a wise choice with the wx .the treo 700w is a very powerfull device and with more memory even better.well just enjoy ur upgraded device.congrats on ur wise choice

Thank you both for your responses. I have had this WX for about 36 hours now, and I LOVE it. I have not had to perform a soft reset except to install a few apps. So far it's great on the internet. The main reason for this phone is that a large part of my business is run online, now I can actually keep up with it. The only con is that Verizon considered this an upgrade instead of a replacement, so I'm stuck with them for another two years. At full retail price paid for the W, I finally feel like I got what I paid for with the WX =D Jessica

You cannot update the memory in the 700W - you gotta change phones. I had a 700W, hated it and stayed with POS. I am considering a 700WX for its ability to multi-task.

Default 700wx made Treo a winner

I can personally vouch for the tremendously enhanced functionality of the 700wx. I was a long time 700w user and was very frustrated by the almost daily need to restart at some point, combined with the slow, lagging performance when trying to run applications.

The extra RAM on the 700wx eliminated both problems. Now I go weeks before it needs a soft-reset. Combined with Pocket Plus 4.2 I have been very happy!
