Default 700w Where to put mp3 to use as ringtone

I'm not certain how I get my mp3 on my computer to the Treo, where do I put it on my computer to get it to the Treo and then where on the treo does it go, I put on a couple mp3's and I can listen to them via Windows Media on the treo but not certain how I get them, shorter versions, as ringtones. Where is it looking and how do I move files? I uploaded via sync on my computers Windows Media Player.

what I do is take whatever mp3 you want as your tone, put it on the desktop of your pc.You should use a sound editor to shorten the clip to about 20-25 seconds.Connect to activesync,Click exlpore.Go to application data, you will see a folder named sounds, drag the mp3 from your desktop into that folder and it will be on there.
On the treo go to sounds & notifactions, select menu, add sound.Select the one you want, and you should be all set.

Default It worked thank you!!

That worked perfectly, thank you. I had previously used the link on how to make the short MP3's with Audacity and this was the last step I couldn't get. Thank you!!
