    Question 700W/WX WiFi Card

I just found out that Verizon has managed to block the use of the Palm WiFi card in their 700 WM phones. Isnt that special?

Does anyone have a hack to restore this feature to where it should be?

Did they tell you when you called or was it something you discovered? I've been interested in buying a card.

I discovered it. I have internet on my phone, but not my wifes.
We first discovered that they blocked bluetooth from making direct connections, then we were gifted a wifi card. Same deal.

    Verizon support responded "
I apologize; our Treo 700w does not support the use of a Wi-Fi SDIO card. Since it is an accessory that Verizon Wireless does not sale for the Treo 700w, we cannot guarantee or support the use or functionality of the card. I apologize for the inconvenience"

Even though both the Treo 700w and wx clearly advertise wifi support and functionality. It is even built into windows mobile.

So... If you are going to ride the Verizon train, expect to get railroaded!

Jesus everything I have ever encountered dealing with Verizon is crap. My G/F has it, and her V3 Razr is so much slower than mine on Alltel. She also got spam porn text messages and dating messages the other day. I am so glad I am on Alltel and have the 700wx, as I KNOW it will work with the wifi and GPS etc.

    That sucks.

Well, they do like to throw their weight around abit, but dont let my problems discourage you, they still have the best network.
For all I know I could have a bad Palm Card, it may not be Verizon at all...
    I was venting...

I have a Treo 700WX(Verizon) and the Palm SD Wi-Fi card. It seems to work just fine. I connect easily to my wireless network at home and elsewhere. But you do need to turn the phone off to use it otherwise there seems to be interference.

My wifi works fine with the 700w. Might just be a bad card as you mentioned. Good luck.
