700wx and Text Messages - Where/how are they stored?

Can anyone here shed any light on the manner in which text messages are stored in the 700wx? I realize that backing the device up with Sprite (or SPB) will back all of this information (including Text Messages) up, but i would like to do a hard reset (defaulting all settings to factory) but then i would like to have my text messages restored.

Basically, i want to back up the text messages only, but i am unsure of their location or even if they are stored in an accessible DB file or directory.
