Active Sync

I am a long time user on active sync. I recently got the treo 700w when i loaded the software, I noticed down on the tool bar that the icon for wireless connection appears. I have not activated my verizon wireless sync account, and I have unloaded and loaded active sync several times, I have replaced the phone but cannot get active sync to work properly any suggestions ?

I know this sounds silly and I mean no insult because sometimes I forget the first steps, but have you tried the microsoft support site for activesync?
