ActiveSync Error 0x85010014 - Treo Forums

My Treo 700w sync's with an Exchange server. I have been getting the error: "ActiveSync encountered a problem on the server. Support Code: 0x85010014". I do sync with my computer but sync files. From what I have read from google it looks like fixes for most people have been to reinstall Outlook on their desktop. Since I do not sync with Outlook I don't think that would fix it.

Has anyone encountered this before?

Are you a corporate user (Exchange Server)? Have you hecked with yor IT folks? I only say that because there may be nothing you can do on your end.

I am one of the IT folks...

My boss turned on Forms Authentication for OWA last night. (trying something new) For some reason that broke the pda sync for everyone.

I had a related issue today. I had been working just fine for the last two weeks with my phone connecting via ActiveSync 4.1. At some point today I got the dreaded 0x85010014 error, researched this on Palm's site, and it recommended upgrading to AS v4.2 - so I did. Luckily I had about 2.5 hours to waste today though did have other items on the task list for the day.

Note: if you do not have Windows Media Player v11 then you will have to verify an authentic version of Windows for the upgrade (and the WM upgrade took about an hour as it had to re-update my Library of 5,000'ish songs and essentially update all of their information). So, after upraging to AS 4.2 and creating all of the previous links (Files, Media, Contacts, Email, etc.) the AS window STILL says there is "Attention required" and points to the Media item for some reason. Each time I click on the error it only reads, "Media: attention required." If I click "Resolve items" in the AS icon it states, "Items of one or more info types can't be sync'ed. Disconnect and reconnect your device." I have the USB sync cable plugged into a laptop cooling fan base which has 4 USB ports on it so maybe I will try plugging the cable directly into the computer (note: this did not solve anything).

So I'm not sure why this happened or what made AS 4.1 stop working completely but I think I'm between stages now. I can resolve the Media issue probably by not sync'ing that folder with the phone and doing this manually (by putting the storage card in my card reader and transferring the files manually and putting the card back in the phone). Maybe I'll look at the AS 4.5-beta soon.
