Add your Thoughts about the 700w camera

Attention: New Treo 700w owners
Please let us know about camera and picture quality with the 700w. Photos from both devices would be ideal for comparison. For me, this point will sway me whether to buy the 700w or 650. Even though I do not have either device, I am currently on Sprint and would need to move to Verizon for the 700w. The camera for me serves a visual to-do list. I generally take quick snapshot when shopping to help me remember what store had what. I am really not an impulsive shopper and mull over big purchases.

The camera on the Treo will not serve as a SLR replacement. We already know that the 650 has a .3 m camera while the 700w has a 1.3m. In addition, the screen resolutions remain lower on the 700w (240x240). Give us your thoughts in practice, not on paper (by the specs).

Visiting Circuit City's Verizon store yesterday, the spec sheet on the Treo 650 states that the camera is 1m. I questioned it because my wife is seriously looking at that model due to existing Palm apps. Could have been a mis-print, or maybe Palm upped the specs of the camera on the 650 recently? The Palm site still states that the camera is .3m.

Can anybody verify this?

its okay and could be better. I am a verizon own for the last 2 years and i find that my last phone LG 7800 was great at taking pictures. Honestly i would use a digital camera instead. Reason being that taking pictures take alot of memory over time, which slows down the Operating system on the treo. Even if you have memory card in the treo, you will find that it getts filled. You must keep in mind that the treo 700 has lots of programs that run at the same time. But back to the pictures, it would easier to carry a small thin-set camera
