adding a port number to the terminal service address in win mobile 5 - Treo Forums

I an enter in an address fine, it just wont allow me to connect to a specific port.

For instance, 123.45.67.89 is fine, when i use 123.45.67.89:1234, i get this error" the server name specified is invalid.

anyone have any ideas? tried getting answers from palm....that was a waste of time.

I thought you had to enter the port in a different field. Usually it's entered as a default and that's the one the phone will use. As far as I know, there is no option for a different port. You have to change the default.

Change the default, where? I dont see anything in settings..

I found some info on this issue, you have to edit the registry:

The only thing is that the registry is LOCKED in win mobile 5!

Anyone know how to unlock the registry?

Here are the steps I followed, FYI:

I downloaded this software: http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Utilit...ry_Editor.aspx

Created a new DWORD registry key, in:
HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Terminal Server Client/Default
called
Server Port

Gives me "access denied" when trying to add the DWORD to the registry.

It's always something!
