Default AGGG! What am I doing wrong?? Memory related question

Program memory:

25.45 total
21.84 in use
3.61 free

I've got nothing running! no active sync, no internet, no email being pushed... using the close all program, I've got NOTHING...what does the low free # mean? Just too much stored on the phone, rather than storage card?

I'll bet Voice Command is running in the background which can use 8 meg of memory.

Go to Settings, choose Voice Command and make sure the "enable Voice Command" box (or whatever it's called) is unchecked. Once you uncheck it reset the Treo.

Goto Settings => Personal => Voice Command is at the bottom, and make sure its not enabled. You may also want to get a task mgr since WindowsMobile and its partly MS and partly developers at fault but it doesn't release all of the RAM back once the app is closed. The OK button is more of a minimize. I usually reset once or twice a day, yeah I like to keep the memory clean.

The amount of RAM that Voice Command uses depends on the number of contacts and media files.

Default Numbers

FYI...
I did a Soft-Reset
Had 11.87 MB Free.

Did a "Show Contact Name" to make sure VC was running...

Disabled Voice Command
Soft Reset.

Had 14.86 MB Free.

That's a 20% reduction... I use Voice Command all day long, but, for performance, I'm disabling it...

Also, Start > Settings > System (tab) > Memory > Running Programs (tab) > Stop All (button)

This will close all unnecessary running programs unrelated to system or programs list options.

I'm guessing that's why it's disabled out of the box. I really enjoy VC, but that's a helluva lot of resources.
