Always Dial 1 Before 10 digit number

I have enabled the feature in the phone preferences to always dial 1 before the number in North America. Well it does not do anything. Any Ideas? Any registry hacks?? This is driving me nuts, I know I can add a one to all my contacts but if I get a call when I am on the road and it is not in my contacts I just want to his return call, not remember the number so I can dial it manually with a 1 in front of it.

I would try a soft rest and if that does not resolve it try a hard reset on your phone. If that does not work you should take it back to your service provider.
