Another Text Message Problem

Hi guys, I just changed from T-Mobile dash to treo 700wx with sprint and the problem is that I can only send text messages to 10 people at a time. I use to send messages to as many as 50 numbers in the past with dash. Can anyone help me out and guide me how I can send messages to more than 10 people I really need it. If there is a software that would do that please lead me to it.

just out of curiosity ... why in the world did you need to SMS 50 people the same message?

I think my question is similar to Tariqie's. I need to txt a group of ppl with the same message as well. How can I do this, without having to add each contact individually. You can assign "groups" to your contact list, but how do you txt that "group".

This would be great for coaches or any type of group leader. (Practice tomorrow at 6:00pm.)

you wont be able to do group messaging. Thats a feature only avalible in blackberries. what you can do is go through the pain of adding everyone and then keeping the message. WHen you have send that group an other message just click on reply all and than remove your own number from the numbers.

Out of curiosity, how did the dash handle the input of 50 numbers? Did you create a group?

I am not that big of a an sms sender - I don't have 50 numbers to test with, however, the mobile field in contacts will hold a lot of characters. I had about 60 chars before giving up. You could enter all your contact numbers separated by a semi colon and use that contact as a quasi group.

Not sure if it will work but it's worth a shot.

I tried that on my treo. But, under phone numbers (mobile/work), I can only enter numbers or dashes. it does not let me enter letters or any other symbols. I also tried to separate the #'s with a [space], but it didn't work. I will try to enter multiple #'s under the "e-mail" field and see if that works.

IT handlle it pretty good. There were occassions where the message was sent twice or may be three times cause the dash will get stuck, plus i could write messages longer than 160 characters and it would automatically divide it in two and send.

i still need help. I have had this treo for about 2 weeks and every smart phone i had before this was smarter.

Interesting. I suppose the alternate would be to create string of characters in the notes of a contact or in the notepad application and then cust and past it into the SMS app.
