Default Any way to stay completely connected to EVDO?

I have IM+ for my Treo 700w, and the software works great, but it gets weird if you give EVDO the chance to go into that little faded out sleep mode it does. It doesn't really knock you off, but you can't get IMs while it's like that. So I was wondering if there's a way to just keep it running at full speed without going into that faded sleep mode it does. It's annoying.

Also is there a way to connect to EVDO without opening software that requires it? When I click it, it sends me to the settings for it. I just want to say "connect". Anyone know? Thanks for any help :D

Couple of questions... When you say it shows you settings, are you talking about the network connection settings?

Also, do you have POP email or something that you can set it to check every 5 minutes? You could try that.

Do you have Exchange ActiveSync? You could tell it to sync every 5 minutes if so.

Default Power setting might help

Have you tried telling it not to power down when on battery?

We have a number of the Verizion PC cards in pc's. They go into a dormant state but not a log off state. They are in desktop pc's so the power is on all the time. They come out of the domate state real fast when something is transmitted.

Ok, the problem I have is when I use IM+, and the EVDO icon at the top of the treo gets into its faded mode, incoming IMs only come in for about a second afterwards. After that, IMs don't come until I open the program back up myself and actually send an IM or get the EVDO icon unfaded. I went into the settings and I think the setting I want to change is flow control. And I want to change that to None. But it won't let me. I'll change it to none and when I go back in, it'll put it back to hardware. This is when I click the EVDO icon, click settings, click Edit, Click Next, Click Next, Click Advanced then select None under Flow Control. I can't keep it at None. Every time I go back in, it'll have it back to hardware.

The program stays on in the background, and while the EVDO icon is full white (unfaded), it can grab IMs and notify me. The biggest problem I have isn't even if I am at the Today screen waiting for an IM. It's while I am talking with people. If it goes faded and they take a bit of time, their IMs won't come through until I send something to jolt the EVDO back into gear. Then all their IMs get sent at once. It's manageable, but it's just annoying, and it shouldn't be working this way. Any way to get the EVDO to run full steam all the time?
