Anyway, Verizon charges too much for internet. 45/mo.
so i disabled that service.
What cool things can I do with my treo now that i don't have internet/email/and all that?
I want to utelize this machine for what it's worth. since i can't do internet, what else is it good for? maybe i should downgrade to a normal phone.
any ideas? |
Notes -- I find myself always on speaker phone taking notes with the drawing feature. Then if its really important, I find myself recording it in the note section and attaching it to my written notes. On long trips, my fiance will write down artists and song titles of tracks we like on XM. Sometimes she looks up the lyrics of her favorite song and sings along! This was one of the reason I knew I would love my treo over the Q.
Slingbox -- You said you don't have the internet anymore, but I love to sling my DVR to my treo while on the road. I was at the verizon shop waiting for an hour just last week to make a correction to my billing that I wanted to do it in the store. I watched TV the entire time I was there... It was pretty awesome if you ask me. If you have slingbox, you can download the mobile edition for 30 days free. It's worth the added price though...
GPS -- I get lost easily and having my new CoPilot Live 6 with me at all times helps me stay on course. Although you don't need internet to use this great program, having internet will alert you of detours, traffic congestion and other great features. I bought the $400 edition on ebay for $150 no s/h.
Qwerty keyboard -- Sure the PDA world has a full keyboard, but if you text a lot like me then this is an added bonus. Since I use the internet, I use the the keyboard mostly for emails now.
Freedom from crippling -- One of the things I've always hated about Verizon was the fact they cripple their phones. My new treo allows me to dump ringtones, pictures, contacts, calendars and more without any issues now. Using Mark/Space to sync everything is a breeze as well.
Camera/Video -- I really digg the 1.3 camera. My last phone had horrible snap shot taking and now that I can also extend my video past 30 seconds to unlimited is another added bonus for capturing everything I need!
I have lots of other perks, but they're mostly internet related. If you're looking to save some money, then Verizon offers a core plan for 450 minutes + unlimited data for $80. This option saves $5 off the data plan, which is what I use and its great since all my friends and family are "IN".
My bill consists of:
450 minutes = $40
unlimitd data = $40
in unlimited/250 txt, pix, flx = $5
Total Equipment Coverage = $6
TAX/Charges = $2.38.
TOTAL = 93.38
I used to be paying $73.36 with my old clamshell by motorolla v710 that I had, so paying an extra $20 bucks to have all these awesome features is great!
