Backing up contacts...
Is there a way to move Outlook contacts to SD card?
I am having problems with active sync and Windows mobile device center.
I tried syncing with at least 10 different computers with no result. Just to mention, those same computers are syncing with different Treo’s without a glitch.
TELUS has a new phone for me, since they couldn’t do anything, and there are some other issues which are irrelevant, but I really don’t want to lose all my contacts from the phone.
Laptop that I originally synced with has a bad hard drive, and of course, no backup was done …
I found some programs, but to install, I have to use ActiveSync…Go figure
So, Murphy’s law is in full effect here
Phone is a TELUS Palm Treo 700wx
Thanks in advance

you can move contacts to the SD card the procedure is in your user guide as follows with an expansion card in the sloy press start programs file explorer select the file or application you want to move or copy press menu (right action key) and select edit copy or edit cut go to the folder where you want to place the item press menu edit paste okay I am confused you say yiou are having problems with active synch and windows mobile device center. Windows mobile device center is for computers using vista and active sync is for non vista machines. I think that you have to use one or the other but not both and thats what may be causing part of the problems.

Mobile device center and active sync are on different computers, one running Vista, other XP
I know about copy and paste, I just don't know where contacts are stored

If you are putting the on the storage card you probably need to do into your device while its hooked up to your desktop and set up a file to store the contacts or whatever files you are wanting to store therebefore you move them. regarding using active sync some programs you can download directly to your phone if you are downloading from the wb so you would not need active sync. If you get your new phone before the old one goes back you could beam your contacts to the new phone from the old phone.
