Question Battery life on a 700wx.

General question. I asked Sprint the question and didn't feel like the answer was given with a level of confidence. I have had a 700wx for about 2 1/2 weeks. I plug the charger in overnight. Generally, my batterly life is around 30% before I go to bed. On two occassions, my phone was not 100% charged when I unplugged it, but around 97%. I may have bumped it and it stopped charging or I may need to condiser a cradle. I did notice that they recommend charging the phone when available. I didn't know if there was something in place that would charge it up to 100% and then back off until it reached a certain point and the charge again. Anyone else ever have this happen?

someone on another board also told me that it is ok to charge whenever availible, anyone know if this burns out the battery?I think the battery stops at on 100 percent and then "drip charges" to keep it there.

Hi there
I have a 700wx and the manual states you can increase your battery life by charging your treo whenever you're at your desk or charge it overnight each day. It says the battery in your smartphone has a much longer useful life when it is topped up frequently, versus charging it after it is fully drained.
I remember one of my earlier Nokia fones had an instant discharge function so that no 'memory' was created with only partial recharges, but the newer batteries dont have this problem.
Another way to help maximise your battery power is keep your Bluetooth turned off if you are not needing it, and watch how frequently you have email synching - as that can eat into your battery power also.
I've actually just received an extended life battery (2 1/2x) from USA and will be interested to see what I get out of that :-)

Default Battery life

Just to pick up on your comment about charging and considering a cradle, I fine the usb connection betn the puter and fone quite poor. It the cable is not 100% straight on into the fone, it will stop the synch process - just the slightest alteration of angle and it is back synch'ing again. Anyone else found this.
I'm bit surprised its like that esp with the 3 apertures which get connected into. So I think I will probably look into a cradle also.

Default Appreciate the Input on the Battery

I appreciate the input on battery life. With the above, I have increased the length of time to check email to 1 hour and have started shutting blue tooth off when not in use. As far as a cradle, I will plan on getting one. I found the comment about "drip charge" interesting and very possible even though no one could validate this at Sprint.

I wanted to ask about cases. I'm planning on picking up one of the larger batteries. I don't think my current case will work. I'm leaning toward the A107 or the A153 (side loading) cases. Any thoughts on a case that would allow for the increase in width of 3mm?

The battery I got was from Boxwave and is the same size as the std battery so no problem with fitting cover or case etc.
I've also got one of their flexiskins at the same time for my 700wx and am quite pleased with it - along with some screen protectors. I found my Harrier PDA I had previously the screen got quite marked so I wanted to get a protector right from the start and its clear as for viewing.
Is that a commission cheque (NZ spelling) you are popping in the mail to me Boxwave???
*grin
