This may be a bit off-topic here, and I apologize if it is. With all this talk about extended batteries, doesn't the use of a non-palm battery in your device end up voiding some sort of warranty?

Just curious as I am looking for something with a bit more battery life.

    Cheers!

No I am right, my friend Freddy does this also.

If you hit the red end call button, the screen goes black, this effectively turns the device off, but the phone part remains functional to receive calls and texts. You do have to power the phone back on to make a call or text. Once someone calls you, the phone remains on until you turn it back off unless you have the option on to turn off automatically after some amount of time. This is how I get around 12 hours max on my battery rather than 2-3 hours

when I hit the end call button and the screen goes black, I cannot do screen taps or push keypad bttons, it does nothing, but when someone clals me, it turns on, when I am done I hit the end call twice and it goes off again, when I get the next call it powers back on

I agree with cchalkley here. My office is in a basement and I have limited coverage. But by 'turning off' the Treo when I am not using it, I end up getting quite a bit of power. Just yesterday I noticed I had 17% battery life left after putting a fresh battery 22 hours before that.

    Cheers!

The extended battery adds a lot of time for talking/emailing - exactly how much? I don't know.

I travel quite a bit and picked up two Seido extended batteries (not the one that requires a new battery cover) and a charging dock that allows you to charge the battry when it isn't actually in the Treo...very slick. Look in the treo store under battery accessories or something like that.
