Default Battery Life Problems?

I got the Treo 700wx about six weeks ago. At first, a full charge was 5-6 hours. Now, it's just over 1 hour. Is this a software problem or a bad battery? Will Sprint replace the battery?

Li-ion batteries are supposedly not supposed to build up any memory levels and are really designed to be re recharged frequently which will help battery life.

How low is battery life getting when you do a 1hr charge - is it just a top up being done each time now?

If you are not getting full battery life out of it, get back to your seller quickly - the sooner you advise there is a possible problem the more chance you have of getting it remedied. Sounds like Treo will look after the end-user.

I'm currently without my Treo - an issue with txting - and when Telecom here in NZ contacted Treo - they got a reference number and were advised 'sounds a hardware fault and we'll replace the phone' .... couldnt believe how simple they have made things for me - so hopefully this week I'll be in possession of a brand new wx.

Good luck on your battery issue.

I've only had my wx for about a week now and the battery life is decent but nothing like people have raved about, then again I've been messing around with the net and everything else on a constant basis. I've been looking around for an extended life battery with no luck.

LoJac - go to www.boxwave.com - but there is also a Sedio exended life batter amonst the accessories on top of this page also - so there are options available.
I bought an extended life battery from Boxwave - along with flexiskin cover and screen protectors - excellent service I was impressed. I like the idea of the Treo Battery Charger also showing which could also act as a holder for my spare battery.

I saw the extended life battery through this site advertised at the top. It doesn't look like you need a bigger battery door, it just fits in and is the same size as the OEM battery?

Its the same physical size as the Treo battery - so fits perfectly.
Just high capacity - 3.7V Li-ion 2400mAh
Have a bit of peace of mind too having the original Treo battery as a spare now I might add.

I never asked you but how much better does that extended life battery work compared to the OEM battery? $34 is relatively cheap in my mind for an extended life battery so I'll probably be picking one up.

ummm this may be silly, do you turn it off when not using it. It still still wring and buzz and all that for calls and messages, it is just turning off the PDA portion. When I first got mine I thought I had to leave it on an dit lasted 6 hours, now I do it this way and it last 30 hours and no problems getting calls and texts.

It also keeps the unit from heating up and saves the life of your unit

cchalkley- I'm pretty sure you have that backwards. The only thing you can turn off is the phone program. The PDA functionality is always on. Unless you have the battery out or a dead battery of course!

And I thought my battery was bad! obviously not as bad as this cuz mine lasts roughly 10-11 hrs with moderate usage.
