    Question Battery: Phone Charger Problems

This is my 3rd Treo 700w and I have had the same problem with all of them.

It seems like the charger cable isn't touching the phone charging jack contact unless I position the phone and charge cable a certain way at night when I charge it.

I have already replaced the battery and bought another charger and still....with the same problem occurring.

Do I need to clean the contacts? Is this a known issue?

Someone please help because this is just absolutely annoying.:frown:

Boy, I've got the same problem. I believe it's a problem with the female connection in the phone itself. However, I have searched the internet and have yet to find anyone with a solution. I've used a couple of charger cables, including the data transfer cable that was included with the phone and also a car charger cable. Same result. I have to wiggle the male end to get it to connect and actually charge. Anyone with a fix for this?

I had troubles with the connection on my first 700wx (before it took a swim in the toilet, but that's a story for another time) anyway, the connection for the wx and I'm assuming the w are the same...both crap! I tether mine to my laptop for an internet connection when I'm out on a job and if I even look at the cable wrong, I'm disconnected. It's just a poorly designed connection in my opinion. When I had charging troubles, I just bought a cradle with an extra battery compartment. The phone fits in nicely and has a good connection, And if need be, I've always got a fully charged battery ready just to swap out. If you don't want to go to the expense of a cradle and extra battery, a new cable might help for a while, but if you plug it up often, the contacts may be getting worn out or even bent a little so that they're not making a proper connection.
