Default Bluetooth Headset Recommendations

I need one that's reliable with good, clear sound both ways.

I have the mid-grade from the store when I bought mine (Motorola HT-300 I think). It is okay but if I wear it wrong then 5 minutes later my ear falls asleep while other times I can keep it on for an hour straight with no pain. Sometimes it has horrible static and other times it shows as connected on the phone but the other person hears nothing. I would say go for a higher-priced one (min ~$100) and you should be satisfied. I think mine was around $40-$60 and I have never used one before so didn't want to waste money but they threw that one in for free so it was a no-brainer. My next headset will definitely be a little more comfortable to wear and be more clear.

Cute, AKG. Funny story here though, my good friend at a corporate office for Verizon Wireless said someone complained to the local papers (a Dear Abby column) that her significant other wore his Bluetooth headset CONSTANTLY (especially during some very "intimate" moments) and she was tired of seeing the blinking blue light and the fact that at any moment he could answer a phone call (or worse yet that it might accidentally call someone in his contact list like his Parents). Ha. Too funny. I wear mine when I need to. I keep it in my pocket or in the car's console and if the phone rings I put it on so I don't really wear it all that much. Oh, and AKG - you have your phone on vibrate and I'm sure you carry it in your pocket or blouse pocket and never answer as you just let it ring and ring and ring, right? <hahahaha>

Default Planatronics Explorer 350

Best Bluetooth Headset I've ever used... and I've used several, especially those Motorola's. Motorola's are very stylish but to many problems. The 350 is excellent when it comes to sound quality, it's the most comfortable BTH I've ever worn. The ear piece is made of a silicone that fits directly into the ear canal, making for good comfort and call quality. The ear hook is soft and flexible so it to is very comfortable. This BTH was recommended to me by just about all of the Sprint reps I deal with and I would say they were right on the money.

The Only Con to this piece is the construction of it. It feels a bit cheaply put together, like I'm waiting for it to come apart. That could just be my piece of equipment tho. Here's a link to reviews and price ranges:

Well, i dont have any funny stories, but in reply to the post;

I have very good luck with Tekkeon. My experience across the BT headset options is very limited though. I woild say that the one that Verizon offered to me with the phone is crap - some mid-range Motorola.

The problem I always have….is that few headsets are loud enough to overcome road noise while driving. I’ve been pretty happy with the Plantronics headsets.

Hey steelcity -- where you livin? I'm in the North Hills as luck has it!!! Luckily, I bought a new car back in August ('06 Honda Civic Hybrid) and I think I could drive with all the windows open and still be able to talk on my headset -- it is a very quiet car so good for me.

(Say, do you want to see if a 4GB card works in your phone? I have one but it doesn't work in my phone but others on here can use them so I'm trying to find someone who wants to try it in their phone. Let me know since you are close to me.)
