Unfortunately, the answer to your question is no. Similar to the 650, listening to music through a Bluetooth headset is not supported.

Default Music through Plantonics 590A?

I'm confused....I purchased a bluetooth Plantronics Pulsar 590A with universal adapter and was told that it would play music and could also be used as a headset for the Treo 650. I haven't tried it yet, but based on what I am reading it, this is incorrect. Can someone help explain what the universal adapter does or does not do? Thanks

I've never heard of this.. The only adapter I know of allows you to change the size of the Treo's jack to allow for use of standard headphones. This of course wouldn't apply to the use of Bluetooth. I haven't heard of anyone being able to play music through their Bluetooth headset?

I'm not sure the 700w supports the bluetooth profile you are looking for. The profile, Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), is, and I quote:

Bluetake's I-Phono Hi-Fi Sport Headphones are an example of this profile being employed.

I just found an article which makes it look like all windows mobile 5 devices will be getting an AKU 2 upgrade which will include the profile discussed above. Now I skimmed through it, and I'm tired....

I'm very curious to hear back from you guys once you have a chance to test this to see if it really does work. Wireless bluetooth music would be a very nice addition to the 700w.

ipod has a bluetooth wireless headset for listening to music with the bluetooth headphone.

it has an adapter which is big but it works as long as you place the treo stero adapter into the treo the bluetooth adapter into the treo stero jack adapter

which will not make this a phone you can carry on your hip.

Default Music thru BT

Having moved from the IPAQ 6315 on T-Mobile to the Treo700w, I too was disappointed that the Treo700w lacks this simple feature. On the IPAQ 6315 win 2003 it was a check box in the BT setup manager to enable all sounds from applications to go through BT.

I called Verizon and all they could tell me was that Verizon doesn't allow this.

Not to be so quickly defeated, I purchased a BT Jabra A210 and connected it to the phone and while this is a real kludge to carry around, I can share the Mot HS850 now with WMP while walking around the office with the phone on my desk. Listen to MP3's and when a call comes in it interupts the mp3 play to pause and I take the call. When done with the call the MP3 playback resumes. This is how it worked with my Ipaq and win2003Mobile OS.

DEL,
Because I'm very slow, just to be sure, are you saying that you purchased a Motorola HS850 and got the Pocket PC sounds to play in it via BlueTooth?
