Default Built-in Voice Recorder

Hello

This is probably a lame question for this forum but anywho, on my old PDA there was always a function to hold a button and take voice notes. In the manual for the 700w (from Verizon) I got with the phone it says the Side button supposedly has this function. Well, when I hold the Side button Windows Media starts. I tried changing the button command using the "Buttons" program in Settings. At first it was set to "Hold Side" and was assigned to Windows Media. I changed the assignment to "Notes" which didn't do anything other than start up the Notes program. Anyone understand this "buttons" program?

Thanks for any help.

Voice recording is part of the NOTES program. Create a NEW Note, then go to Menu > View Recording Toolbar. From there you will be able to record voice memos.

You did set up the "favorites" button correctly.

Thanks. I do know that the voice recording is part of the Notes program (see my first post). My question was how I can use the "Side" button (which is right next to the volume setting buttons on the side of the Treo) to automatically turn on the recorder. The manual I got from Verizon states this as being the case. I know I can go into Notes to record but it is FAR easier if I can just hold the Side Button and have the recording start (again, as stated in the manual).

I'll look into the "favorites" button...I'm not exactly sure what that is.

Thanks again.

I dug out my IPAQ PDA which uses MS 2002 (or 2003) version of the Pocket PC system software. I opened the "Buttons" program and it has a menu choice of "recording" whereas the list in the "Buttons" program on my Treo does not. Anyone possibly know how I can add this to the choices???

I'm kind of stuck here...anyone know anything about this or possibly a place you can refer me.

Thanks!
