Ok thanks, I wanted the 700 so bad but they told me the only ones I could get are the ones with Palm software on the older models and I didnt want that. I dont understand why Tmobile has to be so difficult with everything.

Default callers cant hear me either I am a new user as of march 2007

I am a new user as of March 2007 . I just recently, as of about three weeks ago started having the same problem. I have spoken with customer
service @ sprint to perform a hard reset ,as well as made two trips to the sprint store to have my 700wx checked out. 1st time they checked the phone for frequency 2nd time they checked the mic. I was told to go to palm 1 website to download software again. I am not sure exactly which software I am looking for which is how I ended up at this site. Helpppppppp !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work for a school district and am a computer technician. I received a call today about a user having problems with their Treo 700wx. After talking to the user, I discovered that they are experiencing the same problem that I am.

I can place a call to a person (whether they be landline, Sprint or other carrier) they answer, I can hear them just fine and they cannot hear me. I have to disconnect and place a second call, sometimes the second call goes through and they are able to hear me, sometimes they cannot. I then have to hang up the phone and call them a third time, again, sometimes they can hear me and sometimes not (the whole time I can hear them). The fourth call always works, they can hear me and I can hear them.
I can dial using four methods (touchscreen, keyboard, via contacts and voice command). It matters not which method I use, the problem still happens. This does not happen every single time, when it does happen it follows the above patter. I believe this to be a device issue because I also own a Sprint powered Motorola Razr and have NEVER had problems like with the Treo700wx.
I've placed a call with Sprint Advanced Technical support and gave them my story. They insist that it's a tower issue, I highly disagree because I can use my Razr just fine, then the guy told me it was because they use a different GUI... WHAT!? Yes, I've performed a soft-reset, a "take the battery out for a few minutes" reset and even the dreaded HARD REST.
Has anyone else been having this problem? Any suggestions to resolve this issue? Any idea why this might be happening?

BTW: a total of 4 people are having this problem and that's 4 out of the 4 that I asked (at work)

Thanks for reading this long tread

They are probably talking about the main software on the installation cd. Uninstall and reinstall.

Default me too..

I am having the exact same problem. Mostly when I make call and sometimes when i receive them. I really need to find a solution, so please let me know if anything works for you (other than having to flip to speaker).

Default New User

I've got the same issue as well. My Treo keeps having problems, but my A900 works just fine. The notion about the towers can't be correct because I was in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and now Oklahoma and it's doing the samething....mind it was all in the same day driving. I was thinking about getting the Q and now I'm thinking that might have been a better idea. If I could fix this issue, the Treo would be great. Any new info?

Default Mute

Are you all sure the mute icon on the touchpad is not being touched by you cheek during the call? Stills sounds like mute is being activated somehow during the call.

Default me too..

The problem is exactly what would happen if I did hit the mute button accidentally, but I have the touchscreen disabled and I am certain that this is not the case. I am also in an area with excellent Verizon tower coverage and find it almost impossible that the towers have anything to do with the problem. In my opinion, it is definately a device issue.

then I agree with you. Return the phone to Verizon for replacement.

make sure you do all the *228 updates before you return the phone and make sure you have the latest software installed from the palm site or else they will hand it back to you and say that was the problem
