Calls going directly to Voicemail - Treo Forums

Just to let you all know, the Treo 700w has a "known" issue where it automatically sends calls directly into your voicemail - and your phone never rings, even if it is on and receiving calls.

I've had this happen to me twice in 3 weeks. The Verizon folks tell me that this is a "known" issue. They have to reset the phone from the service center.

This is a real pain in the butt... especially when you have no idea that the phone has changed into voicemail mode. The only way you will be able to tell is when you see you have received a voicemail, even though the phone is on and receiving calls.

They need to get this issue resolved quickly or I'm gonna chuck this phone.

Out of curiosity, what kind of data coverage are you in? Do you have '1x' or 'EV' over the data connection arrows at the top of your screen. If you have '1x', anytime those arrows are solid, the phone will send an incomming call directly to voicemail.

oh yeah, one more thing....that being said, my Treo does this occasionally despite being in an EVDO area...but the signal seems pretty weak here, so i can't tell if it's just losing signal temporarily, or if it's something else...so I'd to hear any updates you get from VZW if it is in fact a 'known issue'.

I have been a Verizon Wireless customer (and it's predecessors) for about 12 years. There have been many times that my phone did not ring and the call went straight to Voicemail. I had a variety of phones, predominately Motorola and Samsung. In fact this happened to my wife last night when I called her on her Samsung phone (Verizon).

I can only recall this hapening once to me since I got the Treo 700W about 6 weeks ago.

Personally, I think this is NOT a Treo 700W problem.
