Can't send picture message... - Treo Forums

when i take a pic, i have 3 options to send to when i press on "send"

-text
-outlook
-hotmail

well, the outlook and hotmail is highlighted so i can click on those and send but the text message isn't highlighted. is there something i have to setup?

i have the ability to send picture message from my cell phone courrier.

Do you mean that the text is greyed out and therefore unavailable? If so it probably just neeeds to be enabled. In my 750 users guide its says press start and select messaging new mms select the address etc of bthe recipient from conatcts or press the center button for list of recently used addresses select add recipient select subject and enter title of message select what you want to send by clicking on the icon in the box and select picture, video or sound fileselct add text if you want to sent text as well finish adding all content vcard slide etc and then hit send button.. Should be the same for the 700w or wx I would think.

search the forums for pics in text mail...u are going to have to find the mms software and download it on to ur treo which is not equipped with the capabilities to send pics

You cannot send a picture with a text message on the Treo 700wx (sprint). I dont know about verizon... but I tried and failed every way. You can send the picture via email if you have the persons cell phone carrier address Example; (MY PHONE NUMBER @PM.SPRINT.COM) PM= PICTURE MAIL. I also dont know of any software you can purchase that would help.

Give the sprint treo 700wx MMS

I found a post and have done this myself and it works. I can not help anybody with problems or questions. The post is pasted below.

OPT#1
Download simple install .zip with .cab inside HERE

I believe I have found a regedit you can utilize to use MMS as opposed to email for pictures. I've done the this and works excellent! although no video yet, the picture aspect works flawless!! works on the 700wx for Sprint AND Verizon! www.PPCGeeks.com

Simple one install method
Advantages no registry editing, and no configuring. Also removed stock loaded pictures and sounds saving about .5mb. Just install the .cab and everything is already set up for you. Enjoy the new extremely simple method of getting Pic/Vid Mail.

EDIT: this will not send video as of yet.....I am working with a member of SU on getting this working.

OPTION#2
Manual Method
Regedit Program
1. Download a Registry edit program. I use PHM Regedit which can be found HERE!

2. Install the regedit cab file by either downloading directly to the ppc and running it or downloading onto your desktop and then syncing the file over from there and running it.

3. I always backup my registry before and after regedits, that way I have a backup file to restore from. I also keep a copy on my ppc and a copy on my desktop of all backups I have done, also make sure u number them and remember what each does or create a hack list to refer to which registry backup does what. You can backup your registry by going to start/programs/PHM Regedit/ now at the bottom there is a bar, go to tools/backup and then name and pick where you want to store the backup file.

Now to the MMS Hack
1. Download HERE!

2. After u download the file either directly to ppc or syncing the zip file over to your ppc, unzip it on ur ppc and install the cab file, then soft reset.

3. Use ur regedit program and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI
Click to open EnableServerEdit and changed the key from 0 to 1. Soft reset.

4. Go to your mail box. It should show you that you are currently in the mms folder. Select menu, then select MMS Configuration. Select the Severs tab and make a new server connection by entering the following:

Server name: Sprint
Gateway: leave blank
Port number: 80
Server address: http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/mms
Connect via: Select sprint
Sending size limitation: 350kb
WAP: Select WAP 2.0

Select ok and then set sprint as your default and then delete the Verizon one.
There you have it! Go to your pics or movies and select one. Select menu, select send, then select MMS. You can now send your picture/video mail with ease.

mine now send pics, but I did not have the option to "select sprint" when setting up the server info on step 4:

Also when I send a pic it gives me a tmail.exe error??? any thoughts?

use the one step method... u wont have to worry about it. i had the same issue with the manual method, so i removed everything and tried the one step method and it works perfect

ok so I took your advice...removed the 2nd method, and installed the 1st method. all looks well, but its not sending the file....it's getting stuck in my outbox. Do I need to configure the server settings or anything?

I started getting these error messages on both my and my boyfriend's 700wx.. I just went into the options and set it to not notify me of errors. Now i don't get the notification, my picture mail goes through w/o issue and I'm not bothered by what i don't see. I'm sure its just a hanger type of error anyway since everything works fine on all ends.

So long story short, its probably typical/normal, turn off error notification and be happy
