Default Does the Stylus scratch the screen on the Palm Treo?

Just wondering if anyone has ever had their glass scratched by using the stylus? Are the screen covers really necessary?

Thanks,

Well Dirt gets stuck under it, sometimes, or if the tip of the sylus, is scrached. I tryed the free one, they give with your treo, i didnt rly like it. Sorta made the images look weird, and when i put it on it got alot of air bubbles. I just use my shirt to clean off the screen before useing it.

I have always used a good screen protector on my devices. I removed the one on my 700p today due to age - 1 year old and it was grungy. I went looking for the spares here in the house...they done run away. If you do not use a good case, then a screen protector is just plain common sense.

Mine has lasted without a scratch or blemish and I've had mine for 4 months without a screen protector. However I will probably get a pack soon because it can't hurt to have one.

Default Tired of Dealing with PROTECTORS!

Hey Everyone: About the Screen Protectors -- Well, I have always been a strong proponent of USING a SCREEN COVER / PROTECTOR for sure. I have always used one.. at least 'til -- now on my current "Crappy" Palm TREO 700P. (That is right -- CRAPPY - I have had so many problems with mine! I cannot wait 'til my Verizon contract expires so I can get some other phone!) and my Dell PDA's prior to that and my old HandSpring PDA before that... and my original Palm Pilot years ago.

But, I am sick and tired of having to pay so much $$ just to protect something that Palm ought to be able to build that does not need protecting... know what I mean? Come on now -- why should I have to pay $15 for two covers when they ought to be able to build it better, tougher, and stronger, and totally scratch resistant! That's my 2 cetns worht any way.

* What will I do, you ask? Well, I am just going use my Palm Treo normally every day, and let the screen take normal wear & tear & scratching... know what I mean? I will just let it get scratched up under normal, daily use and then send that crappy puppy back to Palm and get a brand new one to once again scratch up under normal wear and tear.... that will encourage them to build a better product... from the inside and outside. Either that or they should send out three or four high-quality screen covers at NO EXTRA COST for us to use. But, to expect us to shell out big bucks to buy screen covers to protect their inferior product/screen is rediculous! Rght? Adios to all.
