e-mail making me frustrated

Don't get me wrong I love my treo 700, but getting my email through the outlook email seems impossible for me:mad: .

I have a few questions

1. Can I use the outlook email to notify me of new emails if I do not have a pop3 email account. Currently the email accounts that I am using are yahoo and gmail and it really is a hassle to have to log on to gmail or yahoo just to see if I have new mail


2.If there is a way for me to get email notification, can someone please break it down for me in "laymans trems" , that is please give me step by step directions on how to step up email for outlook.


I have been reading the quick reference guide that came with the treo, but I am still so confused. Where do I start?

to add gmail to your treo

click MESSAGING- click MENU- click TOOLS - new account type in your gmail account (xxxxxxxx@gmail.com) - NEXT- let it connect to broadband and configure - when it says COMPLETED on status click NEXT - YOUR NAME/ USER NAME should be already filled in, so type in your password and check save password then NEXT - NEXT - FINISH - when it asks WOULD YOU LIKE TO DOWNLOAD MAIL for this new account now, click YES - then press MENU - DELIVERY PREFERENCES - check CONNECT AND CHECK FOR MESSAGES EVERY and then specify the time (mine's set as 10 mins)- press OK - you're done..
