Question Email setup......HELP!

I just cannot figure this out. My office runs Outlook 2002 and our exchange server address is pptp something. Why won't this automatically work with my 700w? How am I supposed to get this working. Do I have to download some extra software or something? The instructions are so vague and I'm not an IT guru. Please help, I have tried for hours and cannot get my outlook e-mail working. What do I do?

Are you trying to connect to Exchange ActiveSync? (This is the real time notification of email/etc...)

-or-

Are you trying to setup POP/SMTP?

If you are trying to setup Exchange ActiveSync, do you have Exchange Server 2003? If so, what happens when you use your web browser and go to https://yourserver.domain.com/oma ? Can you login and look at your Exchange Server data this way?

Our server is PPTP. It is exchange 2002. From what I've tried to read, apparently you have to set up a VPN and go through it that way to get to a PPTP server. If it was POP3 or SMTP, it would be a lot easier. I still can't get it to work through active sync, but I did get it to work using Verizon's wireless sync. The directions are terrible, but I installed the wireless sync onto my computer at work and activated it on my device and it seems to be working now.

I believe that you must have Exchange 2003 for Exchange Activesync to work.

Do you have to leave your pc on for active synch to work?

Exchange Activesync connects directly to the Exchange Server via https, which is why it's going to become so popular.

I don't even have an ActiveSync partnership setup on my PC.

This is the reason that this particular technology is being called "Blackberry Killer". It's a technology that's built into Exchange with no add on software needed.

So, no, there is no PC needed.
