    Default Google Maps for WM05

Sorry if this is old news, but I just saw where googlemaps is now available for WM. I know this is a very slick app for the Palm OS, and I figured you WM guys would like to be aware if you weren't . . Again, sorry if this is old news. I don't know how long its been offered, as I just came across it . .

Thanks for the notification. I had no idea this was available for WM. I installed yesterday and can't believe how fast it is. If I can get my GPS working correctly with it I'll just have realized I wasted $300 on CoPilot.

CoPilot does a good job, but it is a resource hog (sometimes I have to soft reset to get it working), there's no integration with contacts [edit: meant to say contact integration is too slow to make it worthwhile using] or calendar on my Treo and there's no paste capability (you can't copy and paste from contacts or calendar into CoPilot). I do like the built in voice directions and the ability to reroute if you get lost. Oh yeah, and there's the fact that 25% of the addresses I put in are not recognized correctly and when you put in a city you have to select from multiple counties. There are just some weird usability quirks with CoPilot. From what I can tell there is no map update function for CoPilot until a new version is released.

You'll need an unlimited data plan for your Treo if you want to take full advantage of Google Mobile Maps, otherwise you'll be paying significant data usage charges.

For some reason I had a bit of trouble downloading and then doing a sync. So use moblie browser and it worked great.

Thanks again for notifying us of the availability.

    Question GPS Help?

Its a great program! But can anyone help me get the GPS capabilities to work?? Google program searches for my gps and cant find it. I've turned the internal gps on instead of just available to 911. Is there another setting I'm not aware of??

    Thanks
