Default Have to be logged on to network to wireless sync?

I have set up a vzn wireless sync account with Verizon to wireless sync my 700w with MS Exchange server 2003. It works great as long as I am logged on. When I log off the sync performs manually but no data is synced and push does not work at all. anyone else experiencing this? Is there a setting to allow push when not logged on?

Are you using the software provided by Verizon that goes on your desktop? Meaning, that's the actual Wireless Sync application...

If you have an Exchange Server, you can sync DIRECTLY with your server, that's how you get the push/pull to work.

Your Exchange Server sends a text message to 2145551212@vtext.com (whatever your number is) and tells it to sync, then your phone syncs. If your phone is not connected to the EVDO network, it then connects and syncs.

Yes my network is MS Exchange Server 2003. When I tried setting it up initially I could not connect so I tried the Verizon connection. It works great except for the issue with having to be lodgged on 100% of the time.

To start over and try the direct server connection again, would you suggest eleiminating the Verizon connection to avoid conflicts?

Thanks for your help.....

Definitely! Eliminating Wireless Sync and connecting directly to Exchange Server is the reason the device is being called a "Blackberry Killer". You need to have some knowledge of Exchange Server, and configuration of IIS to be able to troubleshoot it, but if you follow the error paths that you get on your device, Exchange and IIS (Search your server's application event log), then you should be able to google those items and get it done.

If you have specific questions, post 'em here, and I'll do my best to help.

Thanks again. I found out that our server is not yet configured to allow the syncing proceduere to take place. Basically it won't allow access. My IT department is planning to do the configuration eventually and then I can switch from the Verizon wireless sync the the MS Exchange 2003 direct sync.
