HELP!!!! Updater ruining my life!!!!

Last night I installed the updater (1.22) for my 700w. It completed. Now I cannot, and I mean CANNOT, turn on the "phone" for my treo. Everything else works great. It says on the screen "Phone Off". If I try to dial a number it pops up a little window that asks if I would like to turn the phone on, I click yes.....then it goes to a Verizon Wireless welcome screen where it hangs for a few seconds and then just goes back to my today screen where it still says "phone off"

I tried dialing *228

I have done a hard reset.

I checked the software version and it says 1.22

I have tried installing the updater again and it says that the install is unecessary because it is already installed.

I called Verizon support --- Useless

I called Palm support and they said that the unit was now "defective"...even though it worked perfectly prior to the update.

I asked if there was any way to "rollback" or manually re-install the update and she said "they did not recommend it".....she would not help.

Now I have a freakin PDA but no phone.

Does anyone know of a solution? Perhaps a way to manually reinstall the update? or go back to 1.10? This is rediculous.

I had some of the same issues but my phone did work after several tries of re-installing 1.22. Short story about my install it did not work on my 700wx. I called Palm and as usually you get some one who can only help you from a Textbook standpoint. I keep calling back until I got someone who spoke English w/o and accent. To get 1.22 to install correctly I had to do a Hard Resst (I was not happy about that since I had no issues before the 1,22 updater). Once that was done I was able to get the install to work. Had to do an active sync first (only sync to favorites only for first sync before running 1.22 updater). After that everything worked will. I like the new feature of 1.22 updater. But It was a pain to install. Try a hard reset make sure you have done a active sync first. Do the hard reset and syn your favorites only and then run 1.22. After follow the process of instructions. If that does not work than the install my have caused an issue for you Phone.
