Hissing from speakerphone

I looked through many of the pages of threads and didn't really see anything about this. I just picked up my treo saturday night and when I turn on the speakerphone there is a hissing noise. The noise isn't horribly loud but bad enough to be very annoying. I was wondering if anyone has a similar problem or if there are any fixes out for it?

Never heard of a fix,but also have the same problem.The sound is really low but is ther constantly.

nextel-you also have the hissing from your speaker when in speakerphone mode also?? It's really weird because all the other sounds from the speaker and completely fine which throws me off. I'm going back to the verizon store on Monday to see what they have to say. I've only had the phone for technically 3 business days.

I bet they tell you its a coomon occurence and they cant or wont be able to help you

Well the store I bought my headset from I know a couple of the employees. They don't have the ability to work on the Treos yet because they just opened but he told me to take the phone back where I originally bought it and sternly request that they give me a brand new phone-not a replacement phone but a brand new phone. I picked this phone up on saturday night so excluding the holiday (sunday/monday) I've only had the phone for going on 4 days. I'll let you all know what happens, I'm taking the phone in on Monday.

I have had two Treo 700w's and one 700wx and they all have the hissing issue. keep us posted on what you find out. thnx

oh it's always been a problem then...hmm. The thing is all other sounds come through the speaker just fine so it's just the speakerphone so I know it's not the speaker-oh well I suppose. I didn't end up taking the phone in today, we had tons of errands to run and other stuff. I'll try and get by there this week, I'll let you know what they say.
