Default How can I backup TXT Messages?

I recently purchased a personal owned 700wx palm. I have my old text messages I want to save on my companies 700wx. What file are these saved to? where is it located? Is there a procedure or utility that makes this easy?

    Thanks,
    Randy

    Randy,

Did you find a solution? I'm looking for a way to backup, save, download, transfer to word, etc MMS messages from a 700w.

It's amazing that there is nothing readily available to do this! We're only asking to take data and save it...

    I emailed someone at
    www.spritesoftware.com
    and
    www.easyhelper.net

Both have nothing although the guy at spritesoftware stated, "
Sprite Backup is not designed to export subsets of the phone data, but we are currently working on a migration tool that will allow you to move your sms and mms messages to a different phone. Will probably have a beta version around the start of November."

The other one stated they "may implement it in the next version."

I use DJ SMS Copier. This program is freeware for WM5 format. The backup files it creates can be read on your PC or saved and reloaded to your phone or another WM5 device (another phone). Do a search on the name above and you will find sources to download it from.

I tried the DJ SMS Copier and had it export my SMS to my storage card but it appears it only backed-up my deleted folder and not my inbox... I guess its a step in the right direction.

Something seems wrong as I get all folders copied when running the program.
    A few questions:
Do you have any third party SMS threader program?
What carrier are you using, could they have tweaked the SMS?

I am not sure this will solve the issue of only obtaining a copy of the delete folder but looking for differences in what I have to see if that could be something.

    Default SMS text messaging backup

I am using a Treo 700w from Sprint. I don't have any SMS threaders installed but I do use their business connection application to connect to outlook. I think the business connection sends stealth SMS messages to the phone to indicate that there is a new outlook email.

I have tried running the DJ SMS program from the storage card and from the main memory to no avail. I have quite a few test messages in my inbox (about 1900) and the application took a long time (about 25-30 min) to run the backup and the only output was the deleted box (about 25 messages).

    Thanks for the help.

I am not familar with the Sprint business connection app and it sounds as if it has some fingers into the SMS application. Is there a way to disable the biz app and try running the copier program?

    Default Backing up text messages

I uninstalled the Sprint Biz Con app and reinstalled the DJ SMS copier... No luck... only copied the deleted messages folder.
